"School Notes" on pages 11-13. Page 13 notes the "many draftswomen taking the places of men at the industrial plants, locomotive, shipbuilding and steel works, to do which the young women have remained away from their final year in which they would have graduated, from a sense of duty to serve their country. It must not be inferred that these draftswomen do merely hand-service. Many of them carry out the problems from the designer's conception to the assembling of the machine, and supervise making the patterns; and in the constructive work decide features of its practicality, while some are in charge of the drafting rooms."
